In Palekastro you can find many Mini Markets, Butchers, gift and souvenir shops, bookstore, pharmacy, doctor, newspapers and magazines, Internet Cafe, bank. In Palekastro is the folklore museum, which is worth visiting during your stay in the area.<\/p><p>Very close to Palekastro is a second settlement, Agathias, with a strong traditional color, built amphitheatrically on the slope of a hill, on the road to the beach of Chiona.<\/p><p>Also nearby is Pelekite Cave. It is one of the largest and rare caves of Crete. It is located at a distance of about 5 km from K. Zakros and can be visited on foot or by a small boat. It is a bed of an old underground river and at the end of the cave there is a small lake with water.<\/p><p>On a route of 20km. from Palekastro between small villages at the foot of the mountains is
